Jesus has a Lion Lamb...

My fleece so white as snow!

Oh well, you heard it here first - I’d struggled with the same sin for more than 3 years; fueled by the tiniest slipup the outcome can only be described as destructive, all the while being a Holy Ghost filled daughter of the Most High. Lawd have mussy!

It wasn’t that I didn’t know the ten commandments, I studied my bible everyday, I confessed my sin every moment I had. Matter of fact, I transformed my devotion time to confession sessions .

If I wasn’t a Christian, I probably wouldn’t have cared that much. At least I would have suffered alone, rather than let others insult God alongside my foolishness. Fgs why!?!?

I really wanted to make Jesus proud, I wanted to stop this reoccurring sin that’s lost it way; certainly that must be the case 'cause I’m a new creature in Christ abi? Even though the desire to do good is in me, I am not able to do it. I don’t do the good that I want to do; instead I do the evil that I do not want to do... What an unhappy person I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is taking me to death!? (Romans 7v18b-19 &24).

Where’s the light at the end of this tunnel?

Newsflash: the fact that you’re uncomfortable in sin means God’s already working in you!

And that changes everything.

In order for us to step into the fullness of our salvation, we must acknowledge the Holy Spirit. For the Bible says He’s the one who helps us desire and to do His will ¹.

He Himself is the life of Christ in us ². So if we would be more like Christ, we have to follow His lead.

Apt. Joshua Selman always says something in the lines of, “With every dealing with God, you have a participatory role. It is never up to Him alone." It is this partnership, then, that brings about our conformity into His image.

And all we have to do is OBEY.

Romans 8v5 says, “Those who live as their human nature tell them to, have their minds controlled by what the human nature wants. Those who live as the Spirit tells them to, have their minds controlled by what the Spirit wants".

Therefore, it is the process of shedding off the familiar and embracing the new life. It is waiting on the Holy Spirit’s cue on how to respond to situations rather than jumping back on the familiar wagon of how you’d normally react.

Although, I must warn you. That it is in this moment of surrender that your fleshly desires seem to prevail. But don’t be discouraged my friend; whenever that happens confess your fault and say a little prayer in the lines of, “Holy Spirit, I will never do otherwise if you leave me to myself. Please hinder my falling and mend what is amiss.” Thereafter, do not bother about it again (so as not to let guilt creep in) and focus on His leadings.

Do you see the light?

The Word of God is light. And one beautiful thing about light is that, it compels.

And that’s exactly how it is with our transformation- it happens when we yield to the compelling light of the Word of God.

When you find yourself in a compromising situation, the light deposited in you through God’s Word shines brighter and so it calls for your attention. To walk towards that light then, is to choose LIFE!

But how can you choose life if you don’t even recognize the light in the first place.

Romans 6v11 says, “In the same way you are to think of yourselves as dead, so far as sin is concerned, but living in fellowship with God through Christ Jesus".

We mustn’t run away any longer when we falter in our ways. God’s Word can only be prevalent in our lives when we continually feast on it. It becomes more real to us as we continue in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

To be sincere, I spent months studying before I came to a point where I could recognize God’s voice and understand His intentions. It was then that I could truly see the Light and walk in it.

The reoccurring sins in our lives can become history just by listening for the Holy Spirit’s leading and abiding in fellowship with the Lord through His Word (the Bible). It is also a process that takes time, so please, be gracious to yourself and in patience we will attain the promise of perfection in due time. ✨
